All the bells and whistles at the Teneriffe Festival.

I went to the Teneriffe Festival yesterday, Teneriffe Brisbane, that is, not the Canary Islands. Brisbane is my home town and I love it. Saturday was a gorgeous day, perfect for the third Teneriffe Festival. In their own words it celebrates ‘ the history, energy, cultural diversity, commerce and beauty’ of the area.

The suburb was officially named Teneriffe only in 2010. It is the home of the old wool stores and warehouses, but has recently become one of the most sought after residential areas in the city. The old buildings have been converted to elegant apartments and the area is full of great restaurants and shops….and it is beside the river, close to the city and has great public transport…..what more could you want?

Several streets were closed to traffic to make way for displays, food stalls, art and craft…
